Board Election Candidates (in alphabetical order):
Terry R. Black (Incumbent)
Mr. Black served Los Angeles County for 30 years prior to his retirement. He started his career with the Health Department before transferring to the Marshal’s Department which merged with LA County Sheriff’s Department in 1995. Mr. Black has been a member of POPA FCU for approximately 25 years and served as both a member and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee before being elected to the Board in 1996. Mr. Black is currently serving as Treasurer on POPA FCU’s Board of Directors.
Mark E. Divis
Mr. Divis has been a member of POPA FCU for over 7 years and is currently the Vice President of the Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sherrifs (ALADS), which represents over 8,000 Deputy Sheriffs and District Attorney Investigators in Los Angeles County. Mr. Divis has been a Deputy Sheriff for the past 25 years working various assignments throughout the department, and has served in the Army National Guard.
Cam L. Jarvis (Incumbent)
During the 36 years of Mr. Jarvis’ employment, he held positions that varied from LA County Deputy Sheriff to working as an Investigator for LA County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation; he retired in 1988 as a Captain within the Intelligence Division. Mr. Jarvis was one of the founding members of POPA FCU and has served as Chairman on several committees as well as on the Board of Directors. Mr. Jarvis is currently serving as Vice-Chairman on POPA FCU’s Board of Directors.

Any member in “good standing” for at least three years, may submit their certification form and biographical data to the Election Nominating Committee for consideration. The certification form and biographical data must be returned to the Secretary of the Credit Union no later than January 29, 2012 in order to be considered by the Election Nominating Committee. “Good standing” members that have not been members of the Credit Union for at least three years may petition to run for an available Board position by submitting the petition signed by no less than 1% of the membership or, 153 members in “good standing.” The signed petition and certification form must be returned to the Secretary of the Credit Union no later than February 17, 2012.
The necessary petition and certification forms can be either downloaded below, or obtained from all four POPA FCU office locations, weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The certification form must be signed by the nominee, indicating willingness to serve, if elected. A brief statement of the petitioner’s qualifications and biographical information (i.e. professional background; education; prior service on a board of directors; and any special skills in the areas of finance, business, marketing/public relations, legal, technological, fundraising, etc.) must accompany the certification form.
