We offer two convenient ways to establish membership and open an account at POPA Federal Credit Union.

Visit with one of our friendly Member Service Representative at our Cerritos, Monterey Park, San Dimas or Valencia office - they will make opening a POPA FCU account an easy, pleasant experience for you.

Here are the requirements of becoming a POPA FCU member:

• Be affiliated with one of the following associations: PPOA (Professional Peace Officers Association), ALADS (Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs), LASPA (Los Angeles Sheriff Professional Association), FOP (Fraternal Order of Police), HAPCOA (Hispanic American Command Officers Association), and LADAIA (Los Angeles District Attorney Investigators Association).


• Bring two forms of identification - i.e. California driver's license, social security card, etc.


• Cash or check for $10.00 to open a Primary Savings Account, and cash or check for $50.00 to open up a Checking Account.

NOTE: You must initially open a Primary Savings Account before opening any other type of account.

If visiting our office is not convenient for you, you can give one of our branches a call for enrollment information. The Member Service Representative will mail everything you need in order to open a POPA FCU Account.

To join by mail, you must:

• Complete the Membership Application in full, signing where indicated.

• Include a photocopy of your driver's license (or other official picture identification) plus proof of eligibility, such as a payroll stub.

• A notarized acknowledgment stating you (and a joint, if applicable) are indeed the person(s) completing the membership application.

• Enclose a check in the amount of at least $10.00 payable to POPA Federal Credit Union to open a Primary Savings Account, or $60.00 if you are opening both a Savings and a Checking account. There is no membership fee - these amounts are your initial deposit(s).
