Visit with one of our friendly Member Service Specialists at our Cerritos, Monterey Park, or Valencia office, they will make opening a POPA FCU account an easy, pleasant experience.

Here are the requirements of becoming a POPA FCU member:

• Be affiliated with one of the following associations: PPOA (Professional Peace Officers Association), ALADS (Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs), LASPA (Los Angeles Sheriff Professional Association), FOP (Fraternal Order of Police), HAPCOA (Hispanic American Command Officers Association), and LADAIA (Los Angeles District Attorney Investigators Association.


• Bring a copy of your driver's license.


• A copy of your social security card and payroll stub. 


• Cash or check for $10.00 to open a Primary Savings Account, and cash or check for $50.00 to open up a Checking Account.

NOTE: You must initially open a Primary Savings Account before opening any other type of account.

If you don't have the time to come to our office, you can give one of our branches a call. The Member Service Specialist will mail everything you need to open a POPA FCU Account, with a postage-paid envelope.

To join by mail, you must:

• Complete the Membership Application in full, signing where indicated.
• Include a photocopy of your driver's license (or other official picture identification) plus proof of eligibility, such as a payroll stub.
• Enclose a check in the amount of at least $10.00 payable to POPA Federal Credit Union to open a Primary Savings Account, or $60.00 if you are opening both a Regular Savings and a Checking account. There is no membership fee - these amounts are your initial deposit(s). 
• Mail the completed Membership Application and check to your nearest branch at:
