About Us

POPA Federal Credit Union was formed in 1978 by PPOA (Professional Peace Officers Association) to provide not-for-profit financial products and services to LA County peace officers that were members of the association.

Over the years, the Credit Union has expanded its membership to include POPA family members and other professional law enforcement associations such as, ALADS (Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs), LASPA (Los Angeles Sheriff’s Professional Association), HAPCOA (Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association), and FOP (Fraternal Order of Police).

For over 38 years, POPA FCU has been dedicated to providing low cost deposit and loan products to its member-owners, helping them to build savings and access credit. As a democratically-owned and controlled institution, POPA FCU takes pride in the “people helping people” philosophy and all organizational decisions are made with our members’ best interests in mind.
