Protect yourself against fraud.

Overview

The security of your funds and your personal and financial information is of utmost importance to us. That’s why we’ve created the following information to make you aware of the systems and procedures we have in place to protect our Members against fraud.

Falcon Fraud Manager

  • Maintains files about current fraud activities.
  • Learns your normal spending patterns.
  • If a transaction appears suspicious, a fraud specialist will contact you to verify it.
  • If the transaction is legitimate, nothing else needs to be done.
  • If you did not authorize the transaction, the card is immediately blocked to prevent further fraud.

Security Guidelines

  • Never reveal your Online Banking Login Password.
  • Never use common or known information for your Password.
  • Change your Password frequently.
  • Use the “Log Out” option to exit our online banking service.
  • Balance your account at least once a month, report discrepancies in a timely manner.

Online Security

POPA FCU’s Online Banking system provides a secure environment for Members to conduct financial transactions online. We have implemented a number of security measures and procedures, and continued to implement new security technology, to ensure that Members’ financial and personal information is kept safe, secure, and confidential at all times.

ID THEFT

Identity theft can occur in a number of different ways. If you know what to look for and how it happens, you can self-detect identity theft before it happens, minimizing losses.

Scam Alert

It has come to our attention that an email has be impersonating our collections department and attempting to solicit a response from membership.

We recommend members to disregard this email. If you have any questions please contact us at 562-229-9181.

Subject: Import Notices

Dear Member,
Bank Name: POPA Federal Credit Union
Bank Account Number: XXXXX
_Tomorrow is your last chance to resolve this matter outside the court house.
In event if we do not receive your payment tomorrow then apart from getting laid off by your current employer after we send them the legal notice you will be blacklisted from getting any job.

Through an IRS (Internal Revenue Service) your social security number will be put on hold causing severe damage to your credit history or credit report and your income paychecks will be put on hold.

Any child support, disability, unemployment or retirement benefits will be either place on hold or will be stopped until the outcome of the case

Apple iOS Security Update

It’s come to our attention that Apple has released an iOS update that fixes some security issues for iPhones, iPads, and iPods. If you are using a device that runs iOS and haven’t updated yet, we strongly suggest updating to to the latest software as soon as is convenient to make sure your mobile device is secure. Apple details how you can update your device’s Operating System on their support page.
