ApplePay

Replace your physical cards and cash!

Overview

Apple Pay® is a contactless payment technology that was created to allow you to safely and privately make purchases using your iPhone.

Security

Apple Pay is safe and secure. Using Apple Pay, your POPA FCU card number is not stored on your phone or given to the merchant. A unique digital code is created specifically for that device. You’ll still enjoy all the benefits of your POPA FCU Debit and Credit card, including our Zero Liability policy that protects you from unauthorized purchases.

If your mobile device is ever lost or stolen, you can use the Find My iPhone feature to quickly set your device in Lost Mode, disabling purchasing ability and the ability to get into the phone without a PIN entry. Or, you can wipe all information from your iPhone®. Learn more about Find My iPhone.

How It Works

To Pay you simply hold your iPhone 6 ® or iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.1 or later near a participating merchant’s contactless reader. A vibration and beep let you know your payment has been accepted. Also compatible are select models of the iPad Mini®, iPad Air®, Apple Watch® and Mac® models. Be sure to check the Apple Pay compatible devices list to ensure your device is listed.

You can also use Apple Pay with shopping apps on your iPhone, iPad Air™ and iPad Mini™ 3. Please reference the list for compatible Apple Pay Devices and participating Apple Pay Merchants.

Getting Started

Getting Started with POPA FCU and Apple Pay is Simple

Step 1

Set Up Touch ID

If you haven’t done so, setup Touch ID to keep your device and Apple Pay purchases secure. View instructions on setting up your Touch ID.

Setting up Face ID

If you have an iPhone X or newer and need to setup Facial ID please follow the instructions on setting up your Face ID.

Step 2

Add Your Card(s) To Your Wallet

To add your POPA FCU credit or debit card, you’ll need an iPhone ® 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and newer with iOS 8.1 or later. Also compatible are select models of the iPad mini, iPad air, Apple watch and Mac models. Be sure to check the compatible devices list to ensure your device is listed.

Open the Wallet ® app, swipe down and tap the plus sign. Use your iSight ® camera to enter the card or add it manually.
If your POPA FCU card is already in iTunes®, just key in the Security Code (the CVV code from the back of your card).

Step 3

Setup Notifications

Enable Push Notifications: Turn on “Push Notifications” so that you will be alerted when a transaction or a pre-authorization occurs on your card. Go to Settings, Passbook & Apple Pay and set “Card Notifications” to “On.”
Make POPA Your Default Card: Go to Settings, Passbook & Apple Pay, scroll down to “Default Card," click and select your POPA FCU Credit or Debit Card as the default card on Apple Pay.

Step 4

Look for the Pay Wave® or Apple Pay symbol at checkout and hold your phone near the contactless reader. Use Apple Pay in these participating stores and Apps.

Place your finger on the Touch ID ®. Or, you may need to enter a passcode and sign a receipt.

Keep your phone by the reader until it vibrates and beeps, indicating your payment was accepted.
